Veloce Racing is a Formula Student team that participates in India’s largest Engineering Design Competition. Established in 2011 by a passionate group of motorsport enthusiasts, Veloce Racing represents Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune. After 12 years of building a strong legacy in the combustion category and achieving a world rank of 2, the team is now embarking on an exciting transition to the electric vehicle category. The main objective remains to design and construct a vehicle that excels both nationally and internationally, reflecting the unwavering commitment and 'NEVER GIVE UP' attitude
What is Formula Student?
Formula Student is a prestigious international engineering design competition for undergraduate and graduate students. Participating teams conceive, design, fabricate, and compete with single-seat, formula-style race cars. Evaluation goes beyond pure on-track performance. Judges assess the car's design ingenuity, technical innovation, and cost-effectiveness, fostering a holistic engineering experience. This esteemed competition provides a valuable platform for students to develop practical engineering skills, cultivate teamwork, and showcase their design capabilities to industry professionals.

Veloce Racing is the team that shaped my career. They not only helped me upgrade my technical skills but also fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and ownership. From December 2018 to February 2020, we experienced incredible highs and tearful lows, transforming from a debacle in FB 2019 to champions in Supra 2019 and runners-up in FB 2020. It was one of the most memorable and emotional phases of my life!
From December 2017 to July 2020, I was part of Veloce Racing's Electronics/Electrical team, participating in SUPRA 2018, Formula Bharat 2019, and the FSEV 2020 Design Challenge. I developed a data logger, vehicle wiring harness, dashboard, and power distribution board. I led the Electronics and Powertrain team for FSEV 2020. This journey honed my technical, soft, management, and financial skills, solidifying my passion for the automotive domain and influencing my decision to pursue a Master's in electric or hybrid motorsport.
Joining the Veloce Racing (Formula Student team) was a game-changer. I learned to be versatile while mastering specific skills, from tightening bolts to tackling advanced tasks, building a solid foundation of knowledge. Veloce boosted my productivity and prioritization. It became like a family, where everyone's input mattered and the supportive vibe pushed me to work harder. Veloce Racing has helped create best memories and friends for a lifetime. The biggest lesson I learned from being part of the team was how to deal with failures and overcome setbacks. It was an exciting time to work with combustion and lay the foundation for electric vehicles.
Being a part of Team Veloce Racing is something I’ll forever take pride in. The memories we forged together—racing against deadlines, navigating design conflicts, countless brainstorming sessions, and the ups and downs of manufacturing and testing—will be cherished by every team member for a lifetime. The bittersweet moments we experienced, from the setback at Supra 2022 to the triumph of winning FB 2023, are among the most unforgettable highlights of my Formula Student journey. Concluding our combustion chapter with WRL-2 was the perfect capstone to an incredible journey.
